The human tendency to anthropomorphize everything is even more tempting when the inner workings of a technology are invisible.

I remember the era when folks would go change the default search engine on all of their less tech savvy friends/family's computers to Google, and later on to do a similar move and install Firefox + make it the default browser. That is some serious word of mouth adoption!

As a VC, it's my job to find the best people and write "seed" checks backing them. This nomenclature is not coincidental. Some will achieve their wildest dreams but most will not. That's okay. Some seeds never sprout, but they're a critical part of their ecosystem nonetheless.
