3 months agoIt’s taken months for me to find the proper words to express my gratitude for the 5 seasons I spent with the Hornets Organization and the Buzz City Community as a whole. Through the valleys of those highs, lows, frustrations, regrets and joys of a living a dream, there’s one thing I can proudly put on my soul: that I approached every day of my career in Charlotte with a burning and consistent desire to help the people I coached maximize the best version of themselves. Being able to give my life to serving those I coached for and with was nothing short of a privilege. And for that privilege, I’m thankful.
To the Players - From the film sessions, to the scouts, to the “low minute” workouts, to the 12 minute in practice segments on switch attack concepts, to the opportunities to simply talk shop over dinner at Chubby’s in Toronto. Your trust is what made me feel empowered to be me. I truly wouldn’t be the coach I am today without you all, and I strive to continue to be a positive force in all of your lives. To quote Shaker Heights very own, @rozier : “Stay True.”
To the Coaches - We were caring and steadfast at the highest level. You guys pushed the limits of my creativity and growth - especially when I needed 8 of you guys to help 1 player make decisions in a workout. No regrets. Keep working.
To my Family and Friends - It’s the “I’m proud of you” check in texts, calls and social media posts that truly allowed me push through this long journey in Buzz City. I found inspiration in those inevitable dog days of 82 game seasons because of your belief in me. There’s just no better feeling than knowing someone is genuinely proud of you. Love and respect.
With all that being said, my chapter in Charlotte is over. Let’s go Wizards, let’s roll Go-Go🎶🧙🏻♂️
