3 months agoUnlock Full Range: Shoulder Flexion & Thoracic Mobility 🥋✨ PRO TIP ‼️⬇️‼️⬇️‼️ 🗣️For athletes experiencing limited shoulder flexion and restricted follow-through during a jump shot, biomechanical imbalances are often the root cause. ☯️Tightness in the anterior chain (chest, front delts) and weakness in the posterior chain (back, scapular stabilizers) can lead to limited shoulder flexion, affecting overhead movement patterns like shooting. 🔑Biomechanics First: • Shoulder Flexion Stability: Crucial for control, power, and a fluid follow-through. Without sufficient stability, athletes may compensate and lose efficiency in overhead movements. • Thoracic Mobility w/ Rotation: Unlocks range of motion in the shoulder by allowing for proper alignment and reducing compensatory actions in the lower back or hips. 🧠 Scientific Support: Research shows that scapular stability and thoracic mobility are key for optimal shoulder mechanics, especially in overhead actions like shooting. Imbalances—such as anterior dominance and posterior weakness—can reduce functional shoulder flexion (Kibler et al., 2013; Cools et al., 2007).
