3 months agoAfter a long day, week or maybe even a month of grinding away at work where you’ve had to stay dialed in — take a moment to unwind and completely immerse yourself into the romanticism of being a man. Detach yourself from the constraints of the digital and the corporate, and enter the social. Begin with your body and push it to its fullest with a workout, then freshen up and slide into the style that makes you stand up tall — don’t sell yourself short here. What is it that, when you wear it— shirt, pants, shoes or accessories — makes you come alive with a surge of energy that courses through your veins? Then step out into the world and embrace the life of adventure that we as men are built to experience. You don’t need to plan, you only need to adapt and enjoy. Maybe you stop in to that restaurant you’ve always wanted to go to, which leads to conversations at the bar. Conversations which then take you to a new gallery opening in the art district part of your town and a nighttime drive that reveals a breathtaking view where you pull over and simply take it all in… The beauty of being a man out in the world is that this is what you’re made for — to live on the edge of curiosity, confidence and adventure — gracefully handling any circumstance that comes your way. To deny this inner call that we as men have and shun the opportunity to explore life with confidence and charm, is to withhold from the universe an energy of excitement and inspiration. Who knows who’s life you’ll change — even just a little — when you embrace the unknown and see what kind of trouble you can stir up when you let go of structure, and step into the spontaneity of life. Do it for yourself, yes…but also for the adventurous spirit of manhood that the world so needs today.

3 months agoI hear from men who find themselves in dry spells when it comes to dating. They reveal they can’t meet women or that women aren’t interested in them. Some of these men have been single for years — one man said he had been single for 8 years. When we don’t have something, we want it. When we have something, we take it for granted. Most men would like to have a woman by their side that they can share life with. But the reality is, there will be times in which you don’t have that. Times in which you are a single man, living his life, seeing beautiful women and couples around you enjoying their own company. And you’ll long for that. You’ll want a girl you can call your own, too. On the other hand there are men who are in crummy relationships that long for the single life. They wish they would have spent more time getting comfortable with going for what they really want, instead of settling for all they could get. When all we think about is what we lack and how bad we want something it seems to never come our way. But when we go about our business and enjoy life — truly enjoy it — new people and opportunities appear. A man should not base his happiness on whether or not he’s got a girl. And even if you have been single for 8 week, months or years, longing for love in your life won’t bring it any faster. Although you may believe that having a woman in your life will make it better, ask yourself if you’re using it as a bandaid to make up for pains you don’t want to deal with, or if you’re in fact at a place where you’re able to enjoy life completely on your own, and she’ll be a compliment to an already great life and simply someone to enjoy it with.

I think every artist speaks about how special a record is to them when it is released- and when they do, we are often trying to discern their level of sincerity, and if it’s just for furthering themselves down some stream of success that they’ve found themselves in.
