The Big Note section features the animated illustration by artist/ musician @maximiliano_lopez_barrios and Ornette's words from an interview by Quincy Troupe in 1981. Ornette Coleman was simultaneously one of the most beloved and polarizing figures in jazz history. Though now celebrated as a fearless innovator and a genius, he was initially regarded by peers and critics as rebellious, disruptive, and even a fraud. His instantly recognizable, keening, blues-drenched tone always sought to reflect the depth of human emotion and its utterance. Coleman's compositions from "Lonely Woman" to "Snowflakes and Sunshine" freed jazz from chord changes, fixed rhythms, and conventional harmony. The possibilities he opened up for improvised music in the late fifties and early sixties, when he scrapped the conventions of Western harmony and pitch for a conception that was both a leap into the future and a recovery of the blues past, show no signs of being exhausted, and the implications of his more recent work, involving symphonic composition, free-funk, and the "harmolodic" system, are now being worked on by a new generation of musicians, many of whom are alumni of his bands. "What I would hope for is that some kind of healing medicine would be incorporated in these sounds, coming from these ancient instruments. I would like to try and bring about some kind of medical sounds that could actually cure depression, cure whatever it could. I think that some certain people outside of doctors do this now, already, but it's done in such a camouflaged way, you know?" We then dosed this  black and chewy broth with mountains of coffee beans (specially roasted for us by @caffettiera) , toasted and caramelised bananas for the bananas foster effect and we gave a final touch with some caramel for the dulce de leche experience . Every sip of this monster is an experience of layers and layers of different flavors and aromas of banana,coffee and caramel followed by big chocolate character and roasty and sweet profile .
