a year agoThis weekend I had the opportunity to speak alongside some HEAVY hitters in sports business at Harvard University @husportslab in Cambridge, Mass. I can look left and look right and see there are a lot of other very smart and talented people in the room, but the one thing I always remember and practice, can be summed up in one simple quote: “I walk into every room as myself. I don’t walk into any room as anyone else. I’m not cowering. I’m not speaking soft. I’m walking as myself.” -SC I gotta give credit where credit is due. This was the first event of its kind at Harvard and the guy who founded the organization and created this event was a former intern of ours at Roc Nation, Tai Tatum @tbreezyy_1, whom I gave the nickname “Digital” (long story. Not going to get into it, but I had the entire department calling him by the nickname the entire summer.) Salute to you and the rest of the organizing committee on a great event! Looking forward to seeing what’s next.

3 years ago📸 🎥 📱 phone ring. “Yo, we got you as a plus one” …. Bet. Met Melo and the squad at the airport. Hopped in the sprinter. Went to the ESPYs. Took behind the scenes photos. Grabbed some video. Posted it to social. Gave all the flicks to Melo. Saw my photos go viral. Went back to airport. Went home. Night was done. First experience at the ESPYs was a memorable one.

2 months agoWith advice from my family, my circle and players that i look up to. On 10/18/24 i got a Hip Resurfacing surgery done by the great Dr.Suu out of NYC. Most, but maybe no one even me knew that I’ve been playing through this hip injury for the last 2 years. I am a big believer in dealing with the cards that are dealt in your hand, while taking control of the situation and making a change. Being able to start the rehab process, just yesterday, to get back to 100% is going to be a grind that I’m up for 24/7.

3 months agoAlex Reese had a WILD journey to the G League. After putting up just 5.4 PPG as a senior at Alabama, he was mentally done with basketball. While figuring out his next steps, he spent a year working as a bartender and also had a job moving furniture. Those two jobs made him realize he needed the game again. The next year, he signed to play in Luxembourg and then attended a tryout with the @rgvvipers. @reeseyfor3 Reese made the Vipers’ training camp roster but was then shipped off to the @ripcityremix where he evolved into one of the best shooting big men in the G. At 6’9”, the 25-year-old averaged 13.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 1.5 BPG on 41.5% 3PT in just 18.7 MPG off the bench. Alex’s improvement as a shooter has been amazing considering he shot just 28% 3PT as a senior in college. After earning a Summer League spot with the Blazers, he’s a guy to lookout to earn a call-up next season.
