The NCAA has pushed for a Congressional bill that bars athletes from becoming employees, preempts state laws, etc. To this point, Rs have been far more receptive. @MattBrownEP, @achristovichh and @RossDellenger have written comprehensive stories on this in recent days.

College sports is not what's important right now, but it is what I cover and post about. So ... here's a text from a Democratic staffer on Capitol Hill this morning: "From a pure business sense, the NCAA should be doing backflips in Indianapolis."
