You love the parts untouched the trees uncorrupted, the rain, heavy & sandy before it meets the parts that languish in disrepair, homes subsumed by this disease. By those who lie, steal, pillage, live lavishly off the parts that drown in soot, taste of terror.

You love other parts of it, like the parts that are real & true, the kinder parts, like the people that manage to make a good decent and charged life out of such ugliness, those that go against the grain & make it in spite of everything placed to kill them, they give and it takes
