3 years agoNEW LIFE!! 🙌🏾
On June 12th, 2022, one week after I celebrated my 26th birthday, I re-dedicated my life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Today I would just like to share a bit about my decision and my journey with my faith because Lord knows he’s been working on me for a while now.
I grew up in the church, thanks to my mother and Grandmother, God bless their beautiful souls, and I genuinely felt like because I believed in God and that I believed that He died on the cross for our sins (as many people do) that that was enough. And I began to walk through life carrying things that I didn’t have to. Things like pride, hurt, fear, and the need to constantly prove myself or defend myself to other people. These things consumed me every single day and they manifested themselves in ways that I didn’t even think was problematic at the time. It cost me friendships, relationships, and ultimately it was costing me my inner peace.
Thanks to a few friends, I began attending @weareunionchurch in October of 2021 and I can truly say that it changed my life. God began to work on my heart and speak to me in ways that I have never experienced before. I began to realize that the things that I used to use to fill me, could all be filled by the love of Jesus. It’s ironic because this all happened during one of the most challenging periods of my life. I was struggling financially, I felt isolated and alone on many days. But throughout this process, God began to fill me with His spirit and there was no greater feeling than knowing that on the other side of the storm, there was a blessing that was greater than anything that I could have ever asked, thought, or imagined.
I began to realize that there is nothing in life that we can go through, weather it’s be depression, anxiety, abandonment, addiction, etc. that God can not carry us through. He says in his word that he will trade us beauty for our ashes. Joy for our sadness. Who else out here doing that?? NOBODY!
If nothing else, I just pray that you know that no matter what you have done or gone though, God wants a relationship with you! And there is nothing better than a relationship with Jesus! Don’t let anyone say otherwise!
