I typically work in black and white with portraits but I wanted to try working in real skin tones. I put so much time, effort, and detail into this. a month agoThis smooth play by Shai is the definition of cone work on the court. Shai has the ball in the middle of the floor at the top of the key and walks down his defender by doing a triple between the legs. On each dribble, his feet are constantly moving forward, taking away the space from him and the defender. On his last between the legs, he stutters his feet and takes a hard dribble downhill, attacking the help defender. As he approaches the help defender, he quickly changes directions with another between the legs and does a step back by aggressively pushing off his right foot, creating separation in the mid-range area of the paint for the easy pull-up jumper. It’s important to look at how low Shai stays to the ground with each dribble. The whole time he was moving, his chest was down, and he was in a low stance, which allowed him to change directions easier and quicker. a month agoJalen Brunson catches the ball on the right wing and does a stepback dribble for initial space on the on-ball defender. He then drops his height low to the ground and has a wide base while doing three between-the-legs dribbles, trying to lull his defender to sleep. As he takes his last between-the-legs dribble, he explodes toward the middle of the paint and initiates contact with a little bump using his right shoulder, trying to get to his spot in the middle of the floor. The defender holds his position, so Brunson continues to back him down closer and closer to the basket. To get his shot off, he pivots and spins back off his left foot for the fadeaway mid-range jumper, hitting nothing but net.
