3 months agoThrowback to an incredible experience in Sweden! 🇸🇪✨ At the beginning of this month, I had the pleasure of joining a fantastic group of colleagues, including somms, Masters of Wine, and wine writers to blind taste Swedish wines alongside some of Europe’s finest to determine how far the country’s winemaking has come and what it has to offer. 🍷 It was my first time in Sweden, and I was fascinated by the innovation and passion that’s fueling their wine industry. In the beautiful Skåne region, with its vibrant vineyards — most planted only within the past decade — we tasted everything from sparkling wines to barrel-aged whites, all crafted with immense care and attention. 🍇🌿 First and foremost; Solaris (a PiWi) in all its forms. It was truly exciting to witness a wine region being built from the ground up, full of invigorative ambition and energy. In German we’d say: Aufbruchsstimmung. Sweden’s wine producers are showing the world what’s possible, and I can’t wait to see how their journey unfolds in the future.
