The House’s fifth couture collection, “Les Méduses” Haute Couture Fall-Winter 1999/2000, showcased gleaming fabrics, coral-inspired headpieces, jellyfish-mimicking gowns, and mermaid silhouettes. The flowing gold lamé dress, styled with an added bustier corset, was later featured in the Alien advertising campaign shot in 2009 by Manfred Thierry Mugler, staring model Felicity Gilbert. Created in 2005 by Master Perfumer @dominiqueropionparfumeur with House founder Manfred Thierry Mugler, Alien balances the olfactive overdose of luminous Sambac jasmine with the animal notes of white amber. Its subtility came from the pouring of synthetic Cashmeran wood. Sculpted like a jewel, its amethyst-inspired silhouette recalls architectural lines. ”Alien is the very essence of femininity, it’s femininity incarnate” declared Manfred Thierry Mugler.
