… It’s been one hell of a ride …
Nearly ten years ago, I arrived in Phoenix as an 18 year old kid. I hated it lol. Different culture, different people, and the summers were hot as Satan’s toenails.
But eventually, I found my footing…
I found my spots, my people, my passions, my career/organization.
—
I continued to show up…
I showed up for the community, people I interacted with, Phoenix Suns/Mercury organizations.
I showed up as my genuine self.
With the ONLY goal of trying to leave a lasting and positive impact on everyone and everything I interacted with. For no other accolades other than, “Shaquin? That’s a good dude.”

To the city… thank you for becoming home. For the beautiful winters, the hikes, the close drives to Vegas and Cali.
To the Suns/Merc… thank you for raising me. For an incredible 8 years! For allowing me to grow, make mistakes, fail/succeed & learn, impact the community, explore my interests & passions, and so much more…
To the people & friends I’ve met along the way… thank you for embracing me. For the mentorship, the laughs, the spontaneous trips around the country. Thank you for being my sounding board to complain to and yet the core that kept me grounded. Thank you for everything…
—
If I’ve learned nothing, it’s how important people and relationships are to me. It’s what makes this so difficult…
But for those that really know me, you know I’m a natural nomad… A seeker of adventure… Someone spontaneous, who longs to try and thrive in the uncomfortable scenarios of life.
Nearly ten years ago, I arrived to Phoenix as an 18 year old kid. It’s since become Home. But its time for something different, a different culture, different people, and a place with much colder winters.
From the Valley of the Sun to The Windy City.
Thanks for everything Phoenix! ☀️🖤
