10 months agoOn the day before Ramadan 2014 exactly 10 years to this day I accepted Islam and by Allah it was the best thing ever to happen to me, changing my life habits and norms has been far from easy and I’m far from perfect but I’m striving and trying to become the man I want to be step by step, the older I get and the more knowledge I get on Islam the more I fall in love with my faith, when your certain you are following the truth the more deep the clarity of life becomes and my aim to to show all my friends and family the truth and walk them to the right path with inn shaa Allah, I pray this Ramadan is a successful one for everyone taking part and my thoughts and prayers and with all my brothers and sisters around the world in these difficult times 🤲🏽🤍

3 months agoI love selecting wines, designing wine lists, and working with somms and waiters to create exciting wine places. I therefore couldn’t say no to this collaboration with the great people behind Haus Meer in Meerbusch, which started last year. Since then, we have built a beautifully designed wine cellar, that looks so cool and will look even cooler, when it is fully stocked. The wine list was designed together with the great Klaus Kretzer, and it just won its first award from Wine Spectator. We had to celebrate that, together with the team, including Sommelière Kristina Schantz and Star Chef Anthony Sarpong, and a great group of guests ... and a bunch of beauties from the cellar!

3 months agoTasting a lineup of very diverse wines from China was a fascinating experience. Some of these Chinese wines were very good but my old nemesis Great Wall was pretty bad. However, a lot is happening in China. According to the OIV the country is now the third biggest grape grower – ahead of Italy - and the eighth biggest consumer of wine ahead of Argentina and Portugal. Much of their grape production goes to table grapes and raisins but with its massive domestic market and diverse terroirs, China has the potential to become one of the most relevant wine-growing countries in the world. But are the wines exciting enough to compete with the rest of the world or are they just cheap copies of the wine world classics? I think they have a lot more personality than one might expect and can be great. 3 months agoUnfortunately one of my best mates @lewis.j.johnson recently went to the hospital with suspected low iron levels and has recently been diagnosed with a rare type of Leukaemia Cancer and is currently fighting it as we speak. Me and my mates are going to be shaving our heads in support as well as completing the 3 peak challenge and many others things to help show our support and to try and raise some money for him and his family in this tough time. I will be leaving a link in my bio so you can read into Lewis’ story a bit more and what we are trying to do to help!
