[#AD] In the 1250s, the chronicler Matthew Paris described the daughter of Henry III and Eleanor of Provence in six cruel words: ‘muta et inutilis, sed facie pulcherrima’. However, Katherine’s short life is not defined by Paris’ harshness, but by her family’s adoration in life and death. 2 months agoWhat is the oldest building in Windsor? Well, whilst the wooden structure of Windsor Castle was built shortly after the Norman Conquest, the stone structure was only started in the 12th century, making St Andrew’s Church the oldest building in the city. I was just passing time between trains and wasn’t intending to make a video but it’s a gorgeous little church, and well worth a visit! (Can you BELIEVE the crowds outside @windsor.castle ?
