Changing it up in the gym with a light sparring session!
Remember, these guys aren’t boxers and don’t do this regularly, this was used as almost an active recovery day and to completely change the stressor on the body.
Moving around for 3 rounds gets the blood pumping, gets them thinking and is relatively low risk of injury (we know the fighter and the coach so know he won’t go hard and try to kill us).
I’m a firm believer in professional athletes doing different sports (when the schedule permits). Even if it’s just a few round of boxing, throwing a football or grappling/wrestling.
Just make sure it’s as controlled environment as possible and you know the guys they are working with, And for the love of god don’t get them injured or your coaching career is over!!
