a year agoWow, my time has finally come. 4 different continents, 12 different countries lived. 14 years playing this game at the professional level. Wow. Japan,Belgium,Italy, Croatia,Russia, France, Latvia, S. Korea, Egypt, Poland and Romania. All places that hold special places in my heart for their own unique reasons. Basketball has literally changed my life and I thank God for allowing me to maximize the opportunities this game presented me with. I can talk for hours about all the experiences and stories I have gained over this 14 year stretch, but one of the most important things learned was respect. America is a great country. Is it the best? Well that depends on what you’re referring to. But regardless where you are from, respect goes a long way. I encourage all my friends and family to get out, talk to someone who doesn’t look like you, go learn about other cultures and traditions. We must break this ethnocentric mentality and embrace one of understanding and compassion. The world is truly a beautiful place, and I feel so blessed to have gotten to see most of it.
So with that said, I am officially retiring from playing the game of basketball professionally. I have accepted a position of Player Development with the Houston Rockets and will be with them the next 2 years. I am beyond excited about this next chapter. I’m still just a kid from the Westside of Columbus, Ohio. I’m still hungry to be the best, I’ve just taken the Jersey off and picked up the coaching whistle.
I love you all and God bless! #22 out ✌🏽
