I don't know if it's merely the significance of you turning such a big age of 8 yrs old, or the feelings that come from the Epilepsy struggles we've had for the last several months, but I've fought back tears throughout your entire birthday.
I was so moved, to see you so moved from viewing your GOAT painting, The Starry Night. They say that the swirling paint strokes and bright contrasting colors convey Van Gogh's "turbulent" state of mind at the time he painted it. He created it from memory, paint squeezed straight from the tube onto the surface...and didn't even find it to be that good upon completion. You remind me so much of what this painting represents - for many reasons that only a few know of, but truly because you always say that no one understands you – although I try so hard...and yet I don't always know what's going on in that big curly hair mop top covered brain of yours, but what I do know is this - YOU are a true work of art, inside and out. You are truly special. And I'm always so happy, just to see you happy. ❤️ What a wonderful day we had at the MoMA, celebrating an anomaly of a kid. Not standard, normal, nor expected...My one of one. My work of art, My Rocky. 🥳
Thank you to everyone that came...the Berry, Simons, and Miller Families took NYC! ...and had a blast, even though the heat was ridiculous. @themuseumofmodernart Having the opportunity to see van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, and Salvador Dali works in one day, completely overwhelmed me, in the best way. And it was quite the thrill to see little Russ completely starstruck over seeing, "real live Piet Mondrian paintings!" Thank you, Auntie Stacey @staceyarose for making it out to celebrate with us, too! I love you twin!
