8 months agoI celebrated the milestone of being able to buy my parents a home with close friends. We currently are pending closing 🙂 A home they won’t have to pay for or worry about 💫 I had this dream when I started the journey out of college 9 years ago. A journey that started because I couldn’t land an internship. I was a reject. I had no experience or any idea what I was doing. Growing up my parents sacrificed a lot to help provide for my sister and I. They worked 7 days a week. They came to this country with nothing from Vietnam. When I started the journey I dived all in. I gave up so much. No relationships. Didn’t have the time to socialize as much. Traveled a ton - burned myself out by overworking. Got told many names that weren’t positive. Got scammed. Got betrayed. You name it I’ve probably experienced it. This evening was one of the most memorable. Why? My parents and sister all spoke to my friend circle for the first time. It was at the dinner celebration where they shared all the sacrifice it took to make this happen. My family reminded me of the following struggles - how I didn’t make any revenue for myself until I was 25 - They would let me open credit cards under their name to realize the credit card bonuses that would fund my travels - How i would stare at the computer all day sending blinding emails only to get rejected - Tried different industries where I didn’t even know what we were selling. We went from making apps, getting app install, influencer marketing, to whatever could drive revenue. I plan on sharing the talks from my family this week. Thanks to everyone who made the evening special and shared their memories of the early days. HYGT - Thomas

The main ice breaker question was focused on learning what others wanted to achieve in the next 4 years. That’s what makes @afoundersnetwork special. It’s all about the people. a year agoWhen it comes to Jacky’s Birthday it’s always an extravagant celebration 🎉✨! Every year we always take a trip somewhere or do something special. It’s really her birthday all month 😂 but we always tried to find time to come together to celebrate her “21st”(she’d never claim her age)! We are celebrating her differently this year & I wanted to do something special in honor of HER & her legacy! I don’t have any tattoos, been blessed with custom artwork, I have a J necklace, we celebrated her at her Pop up & on her bday but something in my spirit told me I gotta go BIG! For months I was contemplating if I should do a tribute shoot for her because I knew how emotional it would be for not only myself but anyone I ask to make it come to life! I prayed about it & I finally decided the week of her bday I was going to do it. I called up @lolowood_ & said “Lo! Which photos should I do of J?” And she said “You gotta do the last one because of how iconic it was & a Jnova one!” BOOM! Being so busy, J use to always get mad at me when I’d forget to shoot a video when I was wearing @jnovacollection. I was always running late 🙈 I felt bad because it was never intentional. With that thought in my head I couldn’t let her bday go by NOT honoringy bestfriend the way my spirit told me too! I felt her say, “YOU BETTER DO THAT SH*T! It’s MY BIRTHDAY!” (She said it’s My birthday at least 444 times in one day) 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 I got the approval from Auntie Anne & 2nd one from DC & here we are! 🥺 This particular shoot made us all emotional because I really looked like Jacky(i didn’t expect it) I almost didn’t want to do it after I had the 1st outfit on but I’m happy I pulled together & did! There’s truly no one like Jacklyn & I ask God to give me the strength to be the 🦄 she was! Her patience, her essence, humor, intelligence, kind and caring soul, a BOSS & out of this world mother! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH Jacklyn & I got your back ♾️ NO WHAT!!! Legends are never gone! HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎈🦄💖🫶🏽 P.S I know you DONT like me in blonde 😂 but I bet you feel DIFFERENT about it now!
