Listening to Pete talking to @arod and the @bighurt about how he would change his batting stance (setup) prior to ever addressing his swing really hit home. - Regarding golf, this is something players of all levels should do when not hitting it well or in a slump! As Jack Nicklaus once said, the three most important parts of the golf swing are the setup, setup and setup…and as Ben Hogan said, 90% of your swing is done once you have set up correctly! 2 months agoOne of my favorite players I’ve had a chance to work with and call a dear friend over the years is former @pgatour winner, @presidentscup @presidentscupintlteam member and @pgatourchampions Tour winner, @mark.hensby.5 …Mark and I recently spoke of the importance of having a perfect setup and how important the hip bump is. Mark and I both have a shorter lead leg than our trail one, so we have to really bump that lead hip forward in the setup to create the ideal posture in order to initiate and complete a better turn to the top. - Mark also created this at-home station to help him better rotate his lower body and clear his hips without his trail hip moving any closer to the ball while keeping his arms, hands and club on plane and in front of him on the way down. This gave Mark so much more space to swing (or as I say, play golf) underneath him versus around him. Mark is still a member of the Champions Tour and is playing some great golf.
