3 months agoIn the heart of the untamed Atlantic, where the wild winds meet the roaring seas, 7 Island Brewery and 3 Sons Brewing unite on the rugged shores of the Faroe Islands. This is where our shared journey continues —at MBCFI 2024, surrounded by the power of the ocean that has long been our muse. It’s here, in these dramatic landscapes, that we are proud to announce the release of our newest collaboration: an imperial stout born from the depths of our sea culture and bound by our passion for brewing. Without any further ado we are introducing                    🌊🔱G.O.O. aka God of Oceans 🔱🌊 "Poseidon, the untamed God of the seas, storms, and all things powerful beneath the waves, roared through Greek mythology like a rock star of the ancient world. With his trident raised high, he commanded the oceans, stirring the depths with whirlpools and summoning monstrous waves to remind the mortals who ruled the waters. Known for his relentless, unpredictable nature, Poseidon was as fierce as the ocean itself—an unstoppable force, shaping lands and lives with every crash of the tide" !!!! In this spirit, 7 Island Brewery and 3 Sons Brewing unite, channeling the boundless energy of the sea into the creation of an imperial stout as bold and intense as Poseidon’s legacy. For "God Of Oceans" we used 7 different malts combining a malty and biscuity base with roasted,chocolate and dark crystal malts to create a big ,bold and dark juice . We then dosed this  black and chewy broth with mountains of coffee beans (specially roasted for us by @caffettiera) , toasted and caramelised bananas for the bananas foster effect and we gave a final touch with some caramel for the dulce de leche experience . Every sip of this monster is an experience of layers and layers of different flavors and aromas of banana,coffee and caramel followed by big chocolate character and roasty and sweet profile . Bonded by a shared love of the ocean and a passion for brewing, we invite you to dive deep into this rich, dark brew—a tribute to the unrelenting, wild nature of the seas that connect us all!! I think every artist speaks about how special a record is to them when it is released- and when they do, we are often trying to discern their level of sincerity, and if it’s just for furthering themselves down some stream of success that they’ve found themselves in. I would then instead like to say that today is not about our record- it is about our love and appreciation for each other, our families, our friends, for our crew we hold so dearly, for our management, label, everyone we work with, for our inspiring fans, and most of all- for Trevor Dietz. 8 months agoMany of you that have followed me before I even started going to college know that I have always found it extremely important to donate to charity but deciding which charity has always been a personal preference and really, I had just been hoping that what I donate actually helps those in need but I never really knew with certainty. This year I decided to take an Effective Altruism class in order to learn how to do the most good and how to give most effectively, very early on we had to read “Famine, Affluence, and Morality” a piece written by Peter Singer and it completely changed my entire outlook. I know donating to charity seems fruitless, and I know that sometimes it seems like you’re just one person and your $5 dollar donation won’t make a difference, but I am here to tell you it will. Thanks to GiveWell.Org, the tractability of your donation has never been more transparent. My goal is to raise funds to help save human lives in the most effective way possible but I need your help, please donate if you can even a dollar, share this post, and together we CAN directly save those who need our help most. 5 years ago(Prints Available in USA & UK, link in bio) 300 YEARS LATER 31 x 31 inches Ink on frosted mylar 2019 (Original Sold) I wanted to make a landscape based upon the ending of Urashima Taro, a Japanese folktale. In this story, Urashima returns to his homeland after traveling thru a watery underworld for just 3 days. As his footsteps fall upon the shore, he realizes that he does not recognize the landscape and cannot find anyone he knows. 300 years have past, in his grief he opens a box he was given during his journey.  Within a cloud of white smoke, he is instantly aged (and in some versions dies.) I think about this as I travel back to my hometown. Forests and things are not the same and many times already unrecognizable.  When I imagine what this could look like in some distant future my mind travels to the places I’ve hiked and journeyed that seem both ancient and surreal. This work combines two locations, vast heights of Bryce Canyon’s Navajo Loop Trail and the cracked earth surrounding Yellowstone’s Mud pots.

a year agoHOME. This maple tree saved my life. Story, inspiration and hidden secrets 👇 It started like a typical day in my childhood home in Indiana. I was let out the door to roam the forests, fields, lakes and little creeks that surrounded our house with a warning to stay behind the house and away from the road. So of course, being the well- behaved child I was, I ran out the back door and promptly to our front yard. There, right beside the road, I looked under a large maple tree for “helicopter” seeds. My search was disturbed by loud screeching and squealing noises. I looked up and saw a car zig-zagging across the road in the distance. The next thing I knew, it was right before me, front fender bent around the tree I was playing under. I jumped up, ran inside the front door and immediately told my mother about it, only to realize a minute too late she knew I hadn’t listened to her rule. Without a word she went to the phone and called the cops. Once the police arrived, my mother sent them right over to me and I broke down in tears, saying I would promise to listen to my mother and stay in the backyard. The cop was like “that’s fine, just tell me what you saw” I was so relieved when they arrested the other dude and not me. All my mom said was ”He is drunk idiot and you were lucky today.” This tree and I continued to grow together. It is much loved and am grateful for it. It stirs poetry in my heart and have many more memories beneath it.
