3 months agoA philosopher, physicist, watch enthusiast and brilliant manager in love with numbers, the Italian CEO of @pininfarina_official I met today is the kind of inspiration we need more and more in our life. Before stopping in front of a Pininfarina designed 1962 Ferrari 250 for a photo, I had the imense pleasure to actually interview Silvio Pietro Angori - in charge with steering Pininfarina to succes since 2007 - while joining @bovet1822 for a visit at the iconic design company founded by engineer Batista “Pinin” Farina in 1930. So here I am making my duty to tell you that people are still the greatest resource of creation and emotion and if you want someone creative and emotional to design your industrial objects then that designer had better be the kind of human that functions with espresso and talks with the hands, born and raised in a country where people are blessed with the best food, the goldest (if that word exists) sun and the most romantic imagination. It is therefore logical to understand why Mr Raffy - the owner and visionary artisan of Bovet’s 200 centuries old destiny - connected to Pininfarina in the first place around 2010 and asked them to design the modern “face” of his otherwise extremely classic high horological handcrafted Swiss watches. Today, Bovet and Pininfarina seem like a team since forever and they have reached an almost impossible to match refinement level with their latest creation, Aperto 1, a 40 mm diameter light and modern precious time keeping technical jewelry.
I know you all like that the phone is updating apps online but once you breathe the air of destinations like Pininfarina you understand that a plate of delicious human prepared pasta tastes so much better than technology.
My story coming soon inside the next edition of MISTERWATCH.
