3 months agoWe are thrilled to announce an incredible evening of local food, beverage, awareness raising and fundraising. October 24 - Restaurant Constance will open its doors for a 5 course dinner to support a movement that is near and dear to my heart. Bens Friends, started by Steve Palmer and Mickey Bakst down in Charleston SC, is a fellowship that aims to focus on food service professionals that are sober, aimed at folks in the industry that seek sobriety while also changing the conversation around addiction and alcoholism in our beloved Hospitality Industry. I’ve been the leader of the Charlotte chapter since 2018 and a national leader for the past 4 years, I have seen first hand the miracle of change and the emerging need to expand our footprint to other cities throughout the country. It’s an incredible collective of folks moving through life and business while holding each other up along the way. Each new chapter that we open up is a big financial lift - so let’s do this. We will have an after dinner auction of a personal chef experience (me!) and a few other surprises! Who is @bensfriendshope ? Ben’s Friends is a coalition of sober F&B people committed to their sobriety in an industry filled with drugs, alcohol, and stress. Each of us has found or is seeking sobriety and a way to deal with our careers and life in a sane and purposeful fashion.
