There’s an ache in my heart when I think about how you won’t be able to take him fishing like we talked about. I know you weren’t ready to go. The only thing that brings me peace is knowing that you are no longer in pain. I’ll never forget the feeling of holding your hand as your heart took its last beats. Surrounded by your family with nothing left unsaid. You told us that when your Dad died you felt like the sun shouldn’t shine the next day. We get it now.
