3 months agoThe City and Community: We all have a special connection with where we're from. For @dillonclark.10 , Metro Detroit and his Community within molds the player he is on and off of the Soccer pitch. It's difficult for him to describe "Detroit" in a few words, for him it's just a feeling. The Spirit of Detroit provides a sense of energy, something that Dillon pulls from as he's playing. Stylish, but tough and honest. Creative - almost syncopated, but true to the Rhythm and Beat of the game. Through the @allstate Next Wave Showcase, Dillon and others like him are given an opportunity to be inducted into the @blackstarsoccer_ Academy and have the chance to show how much their City and Community influence their game. #AllstatePartner #ThisThingOfOurs

3 months agoThis Black History Month, we’re spotlighting Black creators in our network who are dedicated to telling stories about the beautiful game. Next up is Black Star. Launched in 2021, Black Star is a fan and player engagement brand facilitating the growth of soccer in Black American communities through content and storytelling, curated fan events, on-field experiences, and culturally inspired merchandise offerings. “Our mission is to cultivate Black soccer culture and pathways and our vision is to see soccer become a leading sport amongst U.S. Black audiences.” Stay tuned for more spotlights across the month of October.
