2 months agoWhy do they suddenly care so much about Puerto Rico? Because Puerto Ricans voting in the U.S. could help swing the election.
But those of us living in PR can’t even vote. More importantly - we don’t have a real say in our own local government.
We’re ruled by a board imposed by the U.S. whose members are appointed by the president & Congress and who Puerto Ricans don’t get to vote for. That board was created through bipartisan legislation. Obama signed it, then Trump was president, then Biden. This remains unchanged.
