At Geneva 2014, Koenigsegg unveiled the One:1, the first fully homologated road car in history with a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio.
The One:1 increased the power of the Agera R by 17% to 1360 hp on E85 biofuels. That alone was remarkable. What was even more remarkable, however, was that Koenigsegg reduced the weight by a net total of 75 kilograms from an already class-leading, lightweight Agera model range, resulting in a curb weight of just 1360 kg.
Every component in the car was evaluated for weight savings. We sourced thinner glass, lighter fasteners, and used a newer, lighter grade of carbon fiber, along with new layup patterns for both the body panels and the monocoque. The seats were made thinner, and even the rear exhaust tip was made 1 kg lighter thanks to 3D-printed titanium.
The 1360 hp output made the One:1 the world’s first car with 1 megawatt of power, which is why we refer to it (and any subsequent Koenigsegg) as a Megacar.
It is impossible to overestimate just how important this moonshot vehicle was—and remains—in Koenigsegg’s lineup. Nobody ever thought a fully homologated 1:1 vehicle was possible, and few have done it since. In fact, to this day, Koenigsegg is the only company producing fully homologated cars with this ratio.
With the One:1, Koenigsegg smashed the limits that others had placed on the company, shattered expectations, and set new industry benchmarks. The One:1 was limited to six production cars and one prototype, making it the most limited version of all Koenigsegg models, together with the CC8S.
