AJ McQueen - “Sorry Ma, I Was Distracted”
My debut album “Sorry Ma, I Was Distracted” is a direct capsule from my heart & soul. Writing this album I had to go deep, all the way back to my childhood and to parts of my self that I either forget or compartmentalized. It was challenging but I am a firm believer of speaking your truth and liberating yourself. I thank God for the gift to be able to write my story in a very poetic, lyrical, and rhythmic way. This album is one of my most vulnerable and transparent pieces of art to date and I have been elated by how the world has responded to it.
From releasing my first album, to then going on my first headline tour, to my album being critically acclaimed by the legends, the pioneers, and the pillars in the music industry. I am truly honored and grateful for my journey thus far.
To my @godbodyenergy team, everyone that played a part in this album, and to my fans and supporters all over the world. Thank you for believing in me and trusting my vision.
To all Grammy Voting Members thank you in advance for your consideration.
As a pure Writer, Poet, and Storyteller I want to win this to inspire and the future Writers that if they keep writing they can too write their own destiny.
It would be an honor to win a Grammy for this album, but whether I win or not, I made my Mama proud and that will always be my biggest accomplishment.
