a year agoThe hardest goodbye.
After 17 years, it’s time to hang up my soccer cleats. Each game was a chapter in a story I never wanted to end. I share with a heavy heart that my last match, played unknowingly, marks my medical retirement from soccer.
To soccer, you’ve been more than a sport; you’ve been the life I chose and the game that helped shape me. Thank you for being my love for so long, for teaching me what it means to be so dedicated and passionate about something. Thank you for the opportunities, all the lessons you taught me, the experiences, growth, and people I met through the journey. I will always remember the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Soccer, you’ve been my passion and my greatest adventure. Even 4 year old me couldn’t have dreamt this big.
It’s hard to imagine this life without playing the sport I love, but I am ready for what’s ahead. While this chapter of my life closes sooner than expected and my dreams are cut short, I am forever thankful. I am the luckiest, being surrounded by family and friends who have been my unconditional support, by my side every step of the way.
With a heart full of memories and gratitude, thank you God for gifting me with this life. Not afraid of the next chapter, because I know the author.
