This program, team, and coaches mean the absolute world to me. I will always remember the lessons learned, records broken, and the passion and leadership this role instilled in me. 2 years ago5th year season…. WOW where do I even start. September 7th, 2022… my life changed forever. With a torn patellar tendon to the same knee as last year & recovery being 6+ months; the docs, trainers, & coaches felt as if I should medically retire from the sport I love. I was truly heartbroken. So many long & emotional conversations were had trying to figure out what the new normal was going to look like. For weeks I was the student coach navigating this new life & how I could still help my team achieve their dreams. However, following surgery in October… I knew my time as a gymnast wasn’t done. I had more to give. Asking for “just a chance, to try, maybe bars” was the biggest question I had ever asked. The answer was not a no… it was “No limitations, but no expectations. We will see how you progress & take it day by day”. In my mind that was a WIN & I was going to do everything in my power to compete one last time in a Sooner leo. With a pure heart & steady mind… I knew it was only going to be a matter of time until I could do it again. Competing in 3 events, being a VAULT NATIONAL CHAMPION, & WINNING as a TEAM is something I can’t even begin to put into words. So many emotions & looking back it was all worth it. To the OverTime Year, a new sense of gratitude was gained, a lot of fight was endured, & many memories were made. To everyone… THANK YOU for all the love & support. Truly would not be here without you! &&& remember it’s only impossible for those who aren’t crazy enough to believe. Retirement… NATTY CHAMP! BOOMER FOREVER. 5th year season what a blessing you were ❤️
